Scaling up of reactions in segmented flow is simply done by processing segments such that there is little to no Transport Solvent between segments. Essentially, it Transport Solvent is used to separate the segments, then serial/parallel segments becomes a continuous flow type operation with the benefits of accurate metering of reactants and minimized diffusion using immiscible solvent spacers.
